Southwest Classic Car Show
![]() |
On the last Sunday of each month the South West Classic Car Club descends on the car parks at Trago Mills in Newton Abbot for their monthly meeting and display. The SWCCC is a non-for-profit club that was formed in 2020 by local classic car fanatic Alan Drake. With the help of car enthusiasts, Terry Heuze and James Sene the club has continued to grow and attract like-minded individuals who all share a passion for classic wheels. Responders and supporters of Devon and Cornwall 4x4 Response are now in their second year of attending the meetings also helping with car park marshalling when needed. |

Armed Forces Day 28 June 2025
On 28 June 2025, Devon and Cornwall 4x4 Response joined the nation in celebrating the dedication and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, past and present.
We are proud to count serving personnel and veterans amongst our members. Within our ranks we have:
1 serving member of the Royal Marines
1 serving member of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary
These members juggle service life and volunteering for the group, often sacrificing leave to support events or callouts!
We also have veterans in our teams, whose duty to their country may be over, but they still feel that they can support their community through volunteering.
3 veterans of the British Army
3 veterans of the Royal Air Force
1 veteran of the Royal Navy
These members have served anywhere between 6 to 27 years and all over the world from the Falklands to Northern Ireland, the Gulf Wars to Afghanistan, and have been based in distant postings like Hong Kong or the Shetland Islands. To all those who have served and continue to serve - thank you.
Golowan Fest - Mazey Day
Golowan 2025 is a 10-day festival of arts, culture, parades, and performances. It’s been called the UK’s second largest street festival in fact, and every year it draws thousands of people to experience the unique and historic celebration of midsummer in Cornwall. Loads of events and activities take place across the festival, including the famous Mazey Day on Saturday 28 June when Devon and Cornwall 4x4 Response will once again assist in closing the roads in Penzance, thus ensuring a safe environment for all the spectacular parades and mesmerising performances.
On Saturday the Mayor and Mock Mayor addressed the crowds from the Mayors’ Platform followed by the 11am, 1pm, and 3pm parades where hundreds of participants from schools and community groups showcased their giant wicker models to the tune of marching bands.
